A train journey is used to explain spiritual growth in “Reach Your Destination.” Accepting Christ is compared to purchasing a ticket, but the traveler must still board the train and continue the journey. Some passengers become comfortable at one stop and choose not to move forward. In the same way, believers may resist correction or growth when familiar ideas feel safer. Nelson reminds readers that salvation begins the journey, while maturity requires continued willingness to follow the Holy Spirit.
These word pictures are effective because they stay with the reader. A person may forget a lengthy explanation, but they are more likely to remember a cluttered house, a guiding tugboat or a train that must keep moving. Those images can return during moments of decision, fear or spiritual reflection.
Nelson began developing these reflections during a quiet season when she spent more time with the Lord and recognized how distractions had consumed her daily life. She began journaling images that illuminated Scripture and made it relevant to everyday living.
