When we pause to reflect on the words of Psalm 107:8-9, our perspective shifts from the overwhelming anxiety of our daily trials to a profound, heart-deep gratitude, because when we recognize who the Lord is, the Almighty Creator of heaven and earth, we are no longer convicted by this world and its people. When we look back at the great things He has done, we are reminded of the sheer miracle of our existence and are flabbergasted by His greatness. From forming in our mother’s womb, sustained before we even drew our first breath, and brought into this world, we are living proof of His divine care and attention that He has been giving to us from the first day He created humanity.

If we were to think about it, about how we lived months in the womb without air, food, clothing, or money, or how we are the only living being known to have existed for millions of years in the entire universe without any comet or anything interstellar wiping us out, we know that we were not just lucky. It is the proof of the Creator, who has been controlling everything and every living being in the universe and beyond. His blessings are pure, true, and far exceeding anything human effort or financial achievement could ever accomplish.

Throughout our lives, God is constantly near and He ensures we have what we need, hears our deepest midnight prayers, and rescues us from the darkness of sin. Even when we stumble, much like Peter, who swore he would die for Jesus yet denied Him three times when the going got tough Christ still went to the cross. He laid down His life for Peter, for you, and for me, demonstrating a love that completely surpasses human comprehension. Although our time on earth is fleeting like a breath, the Lord holds our hand, carries us through our darkest valleys, and prepares an eternal home where sorrow and tears will be replaced entirely by endless praise.

He has promised a greater gift to us after we leave this world, where the cares and burdens we carry in this life will look entirely different: Heaven. There will be no more tears and perhaps only tears of joy or tears of awe for the One who truly deserves them. How else can we share our love for God except in streams of thanksgiving? With uplifted hands and hearts, we lift His name is above all else. He alone lifts the brokenhearted, heals our deepest wounds, and fills our hungry souls with good things.

May our souls continually thirst for His presence, praising His unfailing love and marvelous grace always. Let His glory fill your day, transforming every heavy burden into an anthem of praise. So, let us praise the LORD for His glory and magnificence, and be proud of being a Christian. Let us praise our LORD, our Father, for His greatness and for welcoming us into this universe for a purpose that has to do with Him and only Him. With uplifted hands and hearts, lift His name above all else. He is worthy of our praise. Oh, my soul, He lifts the brokenhearted and heals our wounds. Be grateful for His compassion and mercy.
